Carved into a slice of ancient coastal redwood, The Redwood Portal tells the story of existence above and below the roots of a giant old-growth tree.
The upper world contains soaring mountains, rivers, wildlife, stars, galaxies, and an eagle crossing the heavens. At the heart of the tree stands a glowing portal, inviting the viewer into another realm.
Beneath the surface, the roots descend into hidden worlds where forgotten cities, underground forests, giant mushrooms, and cosmic forces intertwine. Every root reveals a new discovery, blending nature, time, and imagination into a single masterpiece.
No two pieces can ever be identical because the natural grain, knots, and character of each old-growth redwood slab become part of the artwork itself.
